CCA-AFC Region 3 - The Maritimes
KITTEN
The Kitten Class is for pedigreed kittens (intact or fixed), four months to one day under eight months of age.
CHAMPION
The Championship Class is for pedigreed cats eight months of age and older that meet CCA-AFC registration standards. These cats are not neutered or spayed. Cats entered in the Championship class would compete in one of the following categories within each breed:
Open– Cats which have not completed the requirements for a Champion title (successfully competed in 4 qualifying rings). For judging purposes the cat would be considered a Champion.
Champion– Cats which have successfully competed in four qualifying rings and claimed the title.
Grand Champion– Champions which have achieved enough points by defeating 150 Champions, plus one final placement in the top five.
PREMIER
The Premiership Class is for pedigreed cats eight months of age and older that meet CCA-AFC registration stndrds. These cats are neutered or spayed (often referred to as Alters). Cats entered in the Premiership class would compete in one of the following categories within each breed:
Open– Cats which have not completed the requirements for a Premier title (successfully competed in 4 qualifying rings). For judging purposes the cat would be considered a Premier.
Premier– Cats which have successfully competed in four qualifying rings and claimed the title.
Grand Premier– Premiers which have achieved enough points by defeating 75 Premiers, plus one final placement in the top five.
HOUSEHOLD PET
The Household Pet class is for non-pedigreed cats or pedigreed cats which possess faults that preclude them from being competitive in the other classes. Household Pets over the age of 6 months MUST be neutered or spayed, but many not be declawed. Household Pets are judged on health, condition, colour or markings, and temperament. Cats/kittens entered in the Household Pets class would compete in one of the following categories:
HHP– Cats which have not completed the requirements for a Companion title (successfully competed in 4 qualifying rings). For judging purposes the cat would be considered a Companion.
Companion– Cats which have successfully competed in four qualifying rings and claimed the title.
Grand Companion– Companions which have achieved enough points by defeating 75 Companions, plus one final placement in the top five.
